Health
Health is not a simple and singular entity and goes far beyond the concept of being physically fit. Health is officially defined by the World Health Organisation as being a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This can be broadly subdivided into two categories; physical and mental. Both are equally important factors in dealing with the normal stresses of everyday life and the quality of life in general. The former refers to body health, and is the result of regular exercise, proper diet and nutrition, and proper rest for physical recovery, whereas, the latter refers to the level of cognitive or emotional well-being. There is a generally accepted interdependence between physical and mental health and the ability of physical activity to enhance mental health, including positive mood and self-esteem, lower levels of anxiety and depression, and elevated alertness and concentration.
